ALTUM has contracted ALTUM for developing FMEA analysis, according to HSC Code.
ALTUM will contribute with large experience in developing FMEA Analysis and in addition with experience in LNG propulsion.
The vessel will be constructed by Spanish shipbuilding company Astilleros Armon at its Gijon shipyard and completed in 2020.
The new vessel, named as “Eleanor Roosevelt”, will have a length of 125 meters and a beam of 28 meters. The new catamaran will have capacity for 1,200 passengers and 500 cars (or alternatively 500 linear meters of trucks and 250 cars), which also makes it currently ‘the longest and highest-capacity fast ferry catamaran’.
The Incat Crowther 125 ferry will be the first to use four dual-fuel reciprocating engines that each provide 8,800 kilowatts of power from Wärtsilä. By using LNG fuel, Baleària will be able to reduce its carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxide emissions, and eliminate sulphur oxide and particulate matter emissions.
ALTUM will develop required FMEA document (to be submitted to Class/Flag), and will coordinate onboard sea trials.
